  • (1888PressRelease) November 11, 2010 - Amsterdam - Extensa Financial Services (http://extensafin.com), one of Amsterdam's leading futures and commodities brokerage company, announced today that they have reached an arrangement with Amsterdam Commodities Exchange (http://acomex.nl), private commodities exchange. Under their arrangement, Extensa Financial Services will provide exclusive self-directed IRA custodian services for ACOMEX's client investment accounts, described by Damian van der Boor, CEO of ACOMEX as a "win-win situation for our clients".

For Extensa Financial Services, this partnership represents an extension of the firm's IRA custodial and escrow services to the energy markets, a move likely to be adopted by an increasing number of firms in the financial services sector.

"Consumers are becoming interested in investment vehicles which are less vulnerable to the ups and downs of the stock market. We're seeing a lot of new IRA accounts at Extensa Financial Services from clients who want to purchase energy futures inside their IRA portfolios. Until 2008 it was primarily real estate, but now we're starting to see an increase in the number of other financial instruments backed accounts," said Frank Joosten, Head of the Futures department.

With a growing concern among the public about the possibility of inflationary pressures driving down the value of their IRA accounts and other investments, the number of consumers choosing to invest in energy futures has been steadily increasing over the past few years, with brokers like ACOMEX gaining market share in the financial services sector rapidly.
