  • (1888PressRelease) August 28, 2012 - Exhilway Private Capital Market (EPCM), India's first private capital market empowering small and medium sized businesses to raise capital from the private equity and retail investors will invest close to US $20 million in the United States (US) and will create 5,000 job opportunities. The company said in a report issued to the media.

EPCM will outsource some of its India based operations to the US officials like communicating with the promoters of the fund seeking companies, investors and the entire technology backend. EPCM will also expand to developing countries like Africa, Brazil and China.

EPCM which launched its private companies investment platform in April this year, is dedicated to the growth of small and medium businesses. EPCM helps smaller companies to build a brand on the basis of their three to five year financial projections and helps them raise money by selling equity stake to the interested investors.

"We will start hiring in the US next month, though India will continue to remain the biggest market for us. The concept of crowdfunding is new to India and if you look at our model closely, its little better than the traditional fund raising," said Anthony Castillo, Director of Global Operations, EPCM.

EPCM will raise close to US $36 million in its next scheduled private equity fund. Over 30 companies may be the part of this private equity fund, some of them are Policyheaven.com, Stylehistreet.com, Stacy Medlin, GBV Infra, SourceEdge, Minds2Mentor, Tuscana Tech and Jupiqon. The term sheets will be signed with the companies in the mid September.

EPCM in its last private equity fund mobilized close to US $63 million. EPCM has a network of over 2,000 high net worth investors in India who together are worth more than US $4.5 billion. EPCM in its next private equity fund will target retail investors who look out to take positions in pre-IPO companies.

Investment in the Pre-IPO companies is considered safer by few investors as it help them exit at the right valuations and without the future growth related risk of the company.
