  • (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2021 - TikTok recently launched an online shopping feature on their online portal; in partnership with e-commerce platform Shopify, as well as a pilot test of TikTok Shopping among select Shopify merchants across the U.S., U.K. and Canada. Offering free delivery, with millions of products available at discounted prices, the online shopping feature has taken Social Media by storm. Allowing small businesses, mainly from China to expand their brand on an international level.

    The pilot is also underway with other Shopify merchants in the U.S. and U.K., and will roll out to merchants in Canada in the weeks ahead. Merchants can request to join the pilot through Shopify’s own TikTok channel, the company notes.

    Another aspect of the new partnership involves bringing to Shopify merchants product links that can be used to tag products in their TikTok videos. This way, TikTok users will be able to click the tagged product to be directed toward the merchant’s storefront for checkout.

    TikTok first announced its partnership with Shopify last October with introduction of new tools to allow Shopify merchant to create and run TikTok marketing campaigns from their Shopify dashboard. This expansion in partnership brings TikTok’s e-commerce capabilities further with Shopify merchants now being able to sync their product catalogs to create storefronts on their TikTok for Business accounts.
