  • Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2012 - Much competitive intelligence information can be accessed through the Internet, databases and social media, but the best and most real-time intelligence is still found through one-on-one dialog. This meeting will focus on a key, timeless and effective way to talk to people: elicitation.

Elicitation is a calculated and organized means of guiding a conversation to get answers to tough questions. Elicitation builds on human nature to get the other person comfortable enough to share. Usually they don't realize that you are extracting information from them. It is a very useful skill to use at trade shows and over the phone. It can be used both for cold and warm calls.

The Chapter meeting will be held at Northrup Grumman Information Systems in McLean VA on Tuesday September 18 from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm. Cost is $10 for a SCIP member, $20 for a non-member. For additional information, please contact SCIP DC Chapter chair Brandon Conroy at 571-265-2794 or Robyn Reals at rreals(at)scip.org. Please note: pre-registration is required since this is a secure facility - no walk-ins or onsite registration.
