The Basic Mitt provides some of the following key features for Recessed lighting:
• Fire rated cover, that is capable of repelling a fire and smothering a fire with its intumescent material that expands towards extreme temperatures.
• Provides energy savings for heating and cooling.
• A downlight cover that is compatible with all recessed lamp types, up to 50W Halogen, CFL and LED, making fittings future proof.
• Some fittings are installable without an Electrical License.
• Installable from above and below the ceiling.

• The Basic Mitt is tested to comply with AS/NZ 60598 with no insulation clearances, but the cover cannot be covered over its ventilation holes
