  • (1888PressRelease) October 26, 2010 - Victoria, BC, Canada - A group of professionals in Victoria, BC has committed to sharing their vast experience and education to provide guidance to the over 93,000 caregivers living within Greater Victoria. The goal is to help the caregivers enjoy a better quality of life or provide a better than expected level of care to those they love. The information session, EduCamp, will be held on Saturday, November 20 at the Vancouver Island Technology Park, from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Ticket information can be found at www.victoriaseminars.com

Many caregivers feel they are obligated to provide a level of care that will exhaust them physically, mentally, and in some cases, financially. The group of professionals hosting EduCamp have come together to present alternative options to make the life of the caregiver easier. This session of EduCamp is designed to allow the caregivers to get the answers they need to the questions they are afraid to ask.

Caregivers interested in attending this seminar will be able to choose from a variety of sessions hosted by a local expert. The presentations will cover a range of topics, including downsizing considerations, tax implications facing seniors, how to choose a power of attorney, travelling with seniors/people with disabilities, and more. Most of the seminars will be a short presentation followed by a Q&A session to respond to immediate questions from the caregivers.

According to statistics from the Family Caregivers Network Society, there are over 93,000 caregivers in the Greater Victoria region providing care for the chronically ill, frail, elderly, or disabled friends or family. With a population of around 335,000, this means that over 27% of the people in this region are providing some level of care to someone they love.

About EduCamp: EduCamp was created by Brandscaping to provide an opportunity for local professionals to share their relevant experience with their target markets.
