  • (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2013 - Having recently appeared on the energy radar, the eastern Africa region has quickly become a hot spot for commercially viable oil and gas discoveries. The finds have increased the exposure of Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan and more recently, Ethiopia. The attention on the discoveries have also resulted in light being shed on the vast amount of investment required before production can commence.

    East African governments and ministerial officials in the hydrocarbons industry have initiated and propelled dialog across their boarders to ensure their collaboration benefits their own countries as well as the region. In 2012, over 200 international investors met in London at the first East Africa Oil & Gas Summit with Ministry officials from Ethiopia, Kenya and Mozambique to name a few to secure partnerships and pave the way for long term strategic collaborations.

    The East Africa Oil & Gas Summit returns to London on 8-10 October 2013 and will be attended by East African decision makers seeking international investors to drive projects in their countries forward.
