  • (1888PressRelease) March 09, 2013 - Earnest Harris, writer, film producer- director, and talent manager, will be represented by Doug Grad of New York's Doug Grad Literary Agency, for his upcoming non-fiction book on the impact of America's racial and cultural shifts on the way the country does politics, educates, interacts, and even defines itself.

"I am thrilled to be working with Doug," Harris said. "Doug was actually my very first choice for this project. His long history as an editor with the major publishing houses in New York, like Penguin and HarperCollins among others, added to what I saw from his work as an agent for some really good political and other non-fiction books. It means a lot to have someone like that representing you with the publishers."

The book's focus grew out of the great debate and talk following the most recent Presidential election that saw a huge shift in the political landscape as Hispanics, blacks, women, and young people completely reshaped common wisdom on what it takes to win major elections. But the book will go beyond just politics and examine the impact of the major cultural changes the country is witnessing in other areas including the very nature of what defines America.

Earnest Harris is an award-winning journalist, having written for New York Newsday, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Dallas Morning News, The Riverfront Times (St. Louis), National Review magazine, Politico, The Huffington Post, Hispanic magazine, Latina magazine and others. He was also a columnist with the daily paper, The Austin American-Statesman and the host of talk radio shows in Austin, Texas and St. Louis, Missouri.

In the entertainment arena, his directorial film debut, A Simple Promise, achieved national distribution and he is in development on two other major features he is producing and directing, one that will shoot in France and the other a family comedy.

Additionally, he taught communications for two sessions at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Graduate School for Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin as a Woodrow Wilson Program Instructor.
