  • (1888PressRelease) June 20, 2012 - According to DynCorp International president Steven Schorer, the increased rank is the result of reengineered business processes, improved corporate infrastructure, increased back office functioning, a strengthened supply chain process, and a singular focus on business strategy.

Schorercommented, "We're a hungry company now, very agile and incredibly lean."

Washington Technology cites the jump in rank to several of DI's re-competes in 2011 such as a $490 million contract for continued aircraft maintenance and logistics support for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, MD, and continued support of the Air Force's 11th Wing and 89th Wing at the Andrews-Naval Air Facility, a $400.9 million contract.

DynCorp International's new business was also a factor in this year's rating, specifically a contract with NASA for aircraft maintenance and operational support services which significantly expands the business of DI's Aviation Group.

Schorer believes that this is only the beginning and expects continued growth for DynCorp International even in the face of potential government budget cuts. The strongest growth areas, said Schorer, will be in training and support logistics for the military and in the intelligence community.

Becoming more aggressive and more thoughtful, with a strong business process and follow-through has "made a real difference for us and our customers and it will continue to make a difference," Schorer stated.

Based on data analysis from the Federal Procurement Data System--Next Generation, the Washington Technology Top 100 attempts to capture the range of technology work and mission expertise that contractors provide to the federal government. Mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures are also factored into the analysis that results in the Top 100 list.

For over 25 years, Washington Technology has covered key issues facing government contractors, systems integrators, and solution providers. These include procurement regulatory changes, business trends, merger and acquisition news, the effect of government initiatives on spending, and more.

DynCorp International is a global government services provider working in support of U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives. DI delivers support solutions for defense, diplomacy and international development, and operates major programs in logistics, platform support, contingency operations and training and mentoring.
