  • (1888PressRelease) May 15, 2015 - Renowned ophthalmologist and retinal specialist, Dr. Somdutt Prasad will present a Masterclass at the 28th Asia-Pacific Association Of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 5-8, 2015. Dr. Prasad - also known as Dr. Som Prasad - along with Dr. Kenneth Fong, Dr. Ang Chong Lye and Dr. Lee Mun Wai will present a MasterClass on "Vitreo-Retinal Updates For Anterior Segment Surgeons" on 5th August from 10:45am to 12:15pm.

    The MasterClass aims to update and guide comprehensive anterior segment surgeons on aspects of retinal and intraocular conditions that they encounter in the course of their practice. These include diabetic retinopathy, cystoid macular edema, macular degeneration, and other perioperative issues.

    At the end of the MasterClass, attendees will be better equipped to manage posterior segment complications after anterior segment surgery and to advise patients on common retinal conditions in their practice.

    About Dr. Somdutt Prasad
    Dr. Somdutt Prasad - MS, FRCSEd, FRCOphth, FACS and MFMLM - is currently a consultant ophthalmologist and retina specialist at B.B. Eye Foundation, AMRI and i4vision. He was previously a consultant ophthalmologist at the Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Wirral, UK, and a clinical lecturer at the University Of Sheffield & Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, UK. Dr. Prasad is active in the leading national and international ophthalmology societies and a regular faculty at the UK, European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications and eight book chapters.
