  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 19, 2019 - Don’s Footwear The Bespoke, semi-bespoke and custom shoemaker, announced that they will soon be moving to a new location. Currently based out of the landmark MahaNakhon Tower, Don’s Footwear is considering several strategic locations, of which Sindhorn Village seems to be its first preference for now.

Don’s Footwear has been based at MahaNakhon CUBE since it first opened in October 2014. After a successful spell in a niche market, the company aims at expanding its operations. It will close doors one month in advance, to re-group and focus on its future plan, before moving to a new location.

Allan Donnelly, the Founder of Don’s Footwear stated, “It’s been a fantastic journey these past few years. This is Don’s Footwear’s 10th year in the market, and we are proud to be the leaders of this niche sector. I would like to thank Pace Development, for helping us launch all those years ago. This is the beginning of a new era for us. We will create an exclusive showroom adjacent to our factory, where the best models will be showcased, until we find our new home.”

Mr. Donnelly went on to say that in the meantime, they would focus their efforts on improving and developing both existing and new styles of footwear, with the aim of bringing better products and services for their clients. The company intends to focus on new production techniques, such as the fiddle-back waist, storm welting and other traditional ways of English shoemaking.

All shoes produced by the company are traditionally handmade. It is a highly delicate and time-consuming process, where each shoe is hand-crafted right from scratch. Their production technique differs from the usual European sizing system, which leaps 6.6 millimetres. Don’s footwear makes shoes according to the UK & US half size measurement, with every half size differentiated by just 4.2 millimetres. This technique makes their elevator shoes a class apart from other shoes in the market. And, given that only the founder and his father personally create the lasts for every bespoke order, they are confident that each pair of shoes they create is shaped to perfection.

With the advent of the revolutionary mid-sole technology (MST) for elevator shoes, the brand took its custom-made shoes to the next level. By creating a raised flat sole that provides the perfect unison of a lift and the exact comfort of regular shoes, the wearer can now be absolutely comfortable in elevator shoes that are no longer arched at the heel. In its 10th year, Don’s Footwear will be launching its next generation of MST shoes, called Stealth Shoes.

Currently, the company has approximately 400 rough turn wooden lasts ready and is prepared for new orders. They will be taking bespoke shoe orders for existing clients at hotels and residences. Every year, the founder embarks on his Trunk shows for US and UK customers, to offer them a chance to see, hold and test the shoe templates and place their custom orders. This year too, Mr. Donnelly intends to start his tour in May 2019.

About Don’s Footwear: Alan Donnelly established Don’s Footwear in New York, USA, in 2009, before shifting his workshop to Bangkok. He was introduced to the concept of elevator shoes in 1997. Since then, he has been inspired to create original elevator shoe designs, using the highest quality materials. Today, the brand offers almost 160 different styles of elevator shoes, bespoke regular shoes, Cuban heel boots and custom golf shoes, which are all hand-welted and available at fantastic prices. The shoes are not only stylish and durable, but are also ergonomically designed to give the perfect fit to each customer.
