(1888PressRelease) October 06, 2010 - Hampton, VA - Fresh of spinning for UNCF's Evening of the Stars Afterparty for Chaka Khan in Pasadena, Celebrity DJ Shogun touched down in Hampton, Va to kick off United Negro College Fund's HBCU Empower Me Tour this past weekend at Hampton University. In attendance were Actress/Singer/Producer Tatyana Ali ("Fresh Prince of Bel Air"), Actor/Musician/Producer Malik Yoba, Actress/Comedian/Author Kim Coles ("Living Single"), PR Specialists Mo & Kita ("T.O. Show), & Attorney/Radio Host Warren Ballentine, whom held a roundtable discussion with students.

The next stop on the tour is October 23rd, 2010 at Xavier Univeristy in New Orleans, La which will include an early afternoon mixer and listening session for Ledisi's new album, "Turn Me Loose" in the evening.

Over the past week, DJ Shogun has rocked parties in New York, Charlotte, and Los Angeles and will continue his successful run as he heads to the airwaves Saturday nights to provide the soundtrack for "Beauty & the Brit", Hosted by Actor/Musician/Producer Idris Elba & Actress/Radio Personality Claudia Jordan.

Within the mix of catching flights to his next gig and putting out quality mix-tapes, Shogun has found the time to add even more to his plate. He recently launched a blog called the DJ Tech Report (www.djtechreport), which highlights new technologies in the DJ world. DJ Shogun was one of the first djs to integrate the use of a laptop and turntables, in the United States. Shogun has always explored the cutting edge of technology and new methods to move the crowd.
