  • (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - Port Coquitlam, B.C. - KinActivation specializes in a broad range of rehabilitation and return-to-work services and this acquisition allows DMI the opportunity to expand their scope by providing services previously unavailable to current DMI clients. Adding KinActivation to the DMI family offers a great opportunity for increased services and greater presence in terms of the scope of consultants and service areas for DMI.

Allison Hampton, President of KinActivation, will remain with the company in a leadership capacity and will join DMI in a specialized case management role.

Over the next few months, DMI will begin its expansion of their network of consultants nationally by looking for opportunities to apply KinActivation's services to their existing client base, as well as assisting current clients with increased hands-on rehabilitation-based services for challenging files. KinActivation rehabilitation services include functional activation, progressive goal attainment, work hardening, and return-to-work programs. They also offer ergonomic intervention and comprehensive reporting, functional capacity evaluations, and vocational assessments.

KinActivation primarily delivers services through a network of independent consultants located across Ontario to insurers and large employer clients in the province and will continue to operate as a separate entity, but services will be cross-sold to each company.

Disability Management Institute (www.disabilityinstitute.com) has been providing disability management solutions to more than 1,500 clients across Canada since 2002. With offices in Port Coquitlam, B.C. and Barrie, Ontario, DMI provides clients with the following value added services: non-occupational claim management, WCB/WSIB claims management, sick leave or STD claims review, and return-to-work planning.
