  • (1888PressRelease) March 05, 2013 - More timeshare owners are using rental programs to boost their holiday options, as demonstrated by 2012 figures announced by timeshare exchange company Dial An Exchange (DAE).

The company saw usage in its daeOptions program increase 37 percent last year as members looked to non-timeshare resorts for rental deals to complement their existing timeshare exchanges. The daeOptions program was created because of high demand for areas that are a challenge for traditional timeshares to fulfill according to DAE Chief Executive Officer Francis Taylor.

"There aren't always enough timeshare properties in popular places so we did something about it and formed partnerships with quality non-timeshare resorts and hotels in premium destinations," said Taylor. "For a fraction of the normal cost, our members can holiday in some amazing places with leading brands like Mantra, Ramada, Marriott, Hyatt and other great brands around the world."

DAE also provides discounted rental weeks to its members because the company knows how important it is to offer choice to its membership.

    Added Taylor:
"It is DAE's policy to ensure that all weeks deposited into the company's exchange pool remain there exclusively for member use as exchange or bonus time only. But we constantly add extra accommodation weeks where demand exceeds supply and offer them as discount rentals to members. The benefits to members are the ability to extend their exchange vacation by booking a heavily discounted rental week at the same resort or in the same location. And the program gives a huge benefit to resorts because we are helping them to fill rooms from their excess inventory."

Started in Australia in 1997, DAE is still Australian-owned with its global headquarters based on the Gold Coast. The company has 10 offices throughout the world - located in the U.S., U.K., Italy, Bulgaria, South Africa, China, Thailand, India and New Zealand in addition to its Australian offices - reflecting the scope of the operation and the extensive holiday choices that the company can provide to its membership.
