Dr. Dominguez owns Brunswick Dental Associates, LLC, based in New Brunswick. Brunswick Dental Associates, LLC is uniquely focused on treating the dental needs of diabetic patients. Dr. Dominguez notes that there are numerous conditions that can occur in the oral cavity of diabetics, including periodontal disease (gum disease), dry mouth (salivary gland dysfunction), tooth decay, taste impairment, delayed healing, infections, and fungal infections. If not treated properly these can have adverse effects for the diabetic patient.

Once a diagnosis of diabetes is made by a physician, it is imperative that the patient be referred to a dentist - ideally one who is certified to treat diabetics - for a complete oral evaluation. The dentist can then report back to the patient's physician the findings upon examination. Such coordination of care between the patient's dentist and physician can facilitate a treatment plan that is best suited to that patient.
