  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2012 - Spotlights swept the sky and tourists craned their necks to spot their favorite stars last Wednesday night, as a number of film and television celebrities turned out to view the premiere screening of "Beneath the Darkness," the suspense-filled thriller directed by Martin Guigui.

Star of the film, Dennis Quaid, was among those making the scene at the historic Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, as well as leads Tony Oller (Gigantic; CSI:New York) and Aimee Teegarden (Scream 4, Friday Night Lights).

"I was really amazed on how great Dennis played the villain role in this film, a role I haven't seen him in. He really nailed it," said Dylan Nelson, Vice President of Operations for Reel Vision Entertainment. Several of Mr. Nelson's clients who attended the film premiere had the same reaction.

Among those clients were international actress, singer and supermodel Darcy Donavan. "I wanted to turn out and show my support for Martin's latest project. He is not only a great person and friend but an incredibly talented director, so I know this film is going to be fantastic."

Also enjoying the atmosphere was Aimee Teegarden's Friday Night Lights co-star, Jeremy Sumpter, who played the title role in 2003's Peter Pan. Sumpter said that he had worked with Quaid before, and was there to support the actor's work.

Buzz regarding the movie extended to the premiere's packed after party, held at the world famous House of Blues in Hollywood. Director Guigui, also an accomplished musician, performed on stage, backed by a band putting out high-energy blues music, and showed that talent runs throughout his whole family by adding a blues number written and sung by his five-year-old daughter.

But those in attendance were about to get another treat, as Dennis Quaid and The Sharks took the stage for a set of classic rockabilly and rock and roll tunes that had the audience cheering for more. Quaid even covered a song as a surprise for the audience that was featured in his 1989 tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, "Great Balls of Fire!"

We are looking forward to seeing what is next for this talented cast and crew. Beneath the Darkness is now showing at theaters nationwide. Check online for show times in your area.
