The Mai Tai DJ Rumble features one-of-a-kind turntablists showcasing their skills in mixing, scratching and overall musical creativity. The Grand Prize winner will receive $3,500.00 and a trip to Vegas, plus more! A portion of the proceeds will benefit Music for a Cure (www.musicforacure.org).     "It has always been a goal for the Mai Tai Bar to bring special events that set us apart from other nightlife," says Bagus Gede, General Manager of the Mai Tai Bar in Long Beach. "We had DJ Vice for another event and noticed a trend - The Mai Tai DJ Rumble became a spin-off of that."

    The night will open with a live set by SKAM Artist Mr. Choc who is also famously recognized for his role in the "Beat Junkies" crew. Appearing with Mr. Choc is special co-host Colleen Shannon, the "World's Sexiest DJ," who headlines events from coast to coast with her glamorous appeal and talent. As Playboy Magazine's 50th Anniversary Playmate, DJ Colleen Shannon has starred in major motion pictures, print modeling campaigns, and as a coveted celebrity deejay across the globe. The night heats up with the competition featuring three deejays: DJ 4Play, DJ Butch and DJ Dynamix. They will be judged by a panel of celebrity and industry professionals along with a live audience text vote. The Scratch Academy will also be onsite with a special vinyl "art-walk" for guests to create their own "mixed-masterpieces." A portion of the proceeds will benefit Music for a Cure (www.musicforacure.org), an organization founded by Murphy Karges of the group Sugar Ray and supported by the musical community. Music for a Cure provides musical therapy and gifts instruments to critically ill children.
