  • (1888PressRelease) October 21, 2026 - PORTLAND, Ore. - DeckCraft today announced the launch of its free, open-source presentation software for people who want a capable way to create and present slides without a subscription. The project is designed for students, teachers, developers, professionals, and anyone who wants a flexible presentation workflow.

DeckCraft runs as both a browser-based editor and a native desktop application on macOS, Windows, and Linux. The online editor requires no account or installation, allowing users to start with a blank presentation or a sample deck. Files remain on the user’s device, supporting a practical, privacy-friendly workflow.

The software includes tools for text, images, charts, vector shapes, themes, slide masters, reusable layouts, sections, speaker notes, transitions, and entrance, emphasis, and exit animations. DeckCraft can open and save PPTX files, making it useful for editing and exchanging Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

DeckCraft is written in pure Rust and released under the MIT or Apache-2.0 license. The project is in early development, so users should review important files before sharing them because complex formatting, embedded media, and advanced PowerPoint features may not always transfer perfectly.

More information, the online editor, and the open-source project are available at https://deckcraft.me/ and https://github.com/storytold/deckcraft.
