  • (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2010 - Singapore - Datacraft has teamed up with a leading telecommunications and internet provider in the region to offer managed security services across various locations worldwide. By offering Managed Security Infrastructure Service (MSIS), both companies will jointly deliver end-to-end services to help enterprise clients minimise risks by improving network security and performance.

The telecommunications service provider's mission is to bridge natural, cultural and technological barriers that impact on communication with an adaptive and flexible infrastructure to deliver an efficient blend of pan-Asian connectivity. The service provider was challenged by its network operations centre's lack of resources and expertise to efficiently handle the relentless onslaught of malicious internet attacks impacting its large internet presence.

The service provider was facing increasing challenges with the ever-changing threat landscape, said Francis Pang, General Manager for Datacraft Hong Kong. As the nature of these attacks become more complex and sophisticated, it made sense to partner with a security specialist who has the relevant expertise, capabilities and technology to keep up.

Datacraft proposed its MSIS to be offered across all countries and regions in which the provider operates, throughout Europe, the USA and Asia Pacific.

Enterprise clients who subscribe to MSIS have their entire network security managed by Datacraft's Global Service Centre (GSC). Threats or incidents are immediately flagged for the Incident Response team to activate a series of appropriate actions, thus reducing potential network impact. The GSC will also be responsible for managing all Move, Add, Change or Delete (MACD) requests for modification of security devices that have passed through the clients' change request system. Meanwhile, the client will proactively receive recommendations for improving their security posture, to achieve maximum risk mitigation from their security devices.

MSIS allows us to customise a partnership model and a set of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), according to each client's unique environment. Such models include complete outsource, complete in-source and a hybrid model. The SLAs will drive the course of action upon issue detection and this could mean a simple notification to the client, recommendation submission or implementation of action rule set change. As such, our clients can have the peace of mind knowing that their network security is being monitored by security professionals at Datacraft, 24 x 7 x 365, said Pang.
