  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) October 11, 2018 - World-renowned drag queen Sasha Velour knows a thing or two about magic. After all, she’s created a drag magazine, collaborated with Opening Ceremony for New York Fashion Week 2018 (while wrangling Christina Aguilera into doing a surprise appearance!), created mini-documentaries, spoke at the inaugural Teen Vogue summit, and regularly makes appearances around the world, bestowing her beauty, wisdom, and grace upon us lesser mortals. Basically, she’s the Santa Claus of drag; and now, she’s gracing the cover of WUSSY volume 05.

Creative Director Barry Brandon states, "With each WUSSY print publication, our goal is for queer humans, young and seasoned, to read, see + experience representation. Through spotlighting powerful queer humans in art, culture and business, we have the ability to bring visibility to how important queer contributions are to society. Through our lens & voice, we hope that WUSSY remains a space to showcase humans who express themselves freely, openly & authentically.”

Not only does volume 05 has a full editorial and exclusive interview with Miss Velour, but it also contains photos and collages by Savana Ogburn, interviews with the Boulet Brothers, Creme Fatale, Imp Kid, Yuhua Hamasaki, Seth Bogart , The Vixen, Savana’s The House of Gunt + more! Volume 05 represents the spirit of Halloween; this very special “October issue” includes frighteningly beautiful photo spreads, additional interviews with influencers and tastemakers, fashion, and poetry all dripping with gothic glamour. This volume also includes a “Cool Queers” section that WUSSY is continuing throughout every issue as well as on a “coming soon” revamped website. The section will feature queers across the globe making an impact and doing amazing artistry, no matter their field.

In partnership with Joystick Gamebar, WUSSY will be releasing Vol. 05 of its boutique, quarterly queer arts magazine and holding a release party on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Vol 05 is available for presale Friday, October 12, 2018 at this link (http://www.wussymag.com/shop/wussy-volume-5-with-sasha-velour), and will also be available in select bookstores throughout the United States and Europe.
