Cushman & Wakefield Reps Optimer In Jersey City Office Lease
San Diego Biopharma Opens First East Coast Operation at 101 Hudson Street.
- (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2011 - JERSEY CITY, N.J. - San Diego-based Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has leased 14,000 square feet of office space at 101 Hudson Street in Jersey City, announced commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. The biopharmaceutical company recently opened its first East Coast office at the property.
Founded in 1998, Optimer Pharmaceuticals focuses on discovering, developing and commercializing innovative hospital specialty products that have a positive impact on society. Optimer has two anti-infective product candidates in development.
The Jersey City location is serving as a commercial operations office, according to Cushman & Wakefield's Harlan Hollander, who represented the company in the long-term lease. Thomas Savoca served as in-house representative for property owner Mack-Cali Realty Corporation.
"Time was of the essence for Optimer Pharmaceuticals, which needed space quickly as it wrapped up its local hiring," Hollander said, adding that the site search spanned Jersey City and Hoboken. "The suite at 101 Hudson Street was fully furnished, wired and in move-in condition. It also met the company's requirements for a waterfront location with easy mass transit access to Manhattan."
Approximately 50 Optimer Pharmaceuticals employees will occupy the new office. The company's corporate headquarters and R&D facilities are located in San Diego. A subsidiary, Optimer Biotechnology, Inc., is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
