  • Bergen-Passaic, NJ (1888PressRelease) April 05, 2013 - Eileen Carey has been named managing director of Corporate Occupier and Investor Services at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. in East Rutherford. The promotion recognizes Carey's success in leading the commercial real estate services firm's growing portfolio management practice in New Jersey and Connecticut; C&W's 400-employees manage in excess of 20 million square feet of office and industrial space for Fortune 500 companies in this area.

Carey, a 30-year real estate industry veteran, joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1997 and has since been promoted four times. In her current role, she collaborates with the firm's portfolio managers to develop integrated service solutions that address property/facility management, project management, agency leasing, office services and other consulting needs. This includes ensuring that the latest financial, operational and technological platforms are available for more than 100 client properties.

Last year, Carey spearheaded two initiatives that significantly grew her group's business volume. First, she headed the launch of a new Mobile Engineering and Maintenance services platform in New Jersey. Cushman & Wakefield's facility and property management services traditionally have provided engineering services for institutional and corporate-owned properties. The new program extends the firm's "traditional" level of repair and maintenance services on an adaptable basis for commercial real estate buildings that do not warrant full-time, on-site staff. The Mobile Engineering and Maintenance platform has grown steadily since its start.

Carey has supported the aggressive growth of East Rutherford's project management team, which expanded its role supporting the company's brokerage and property management professionals. During 2012, the project management group completed $600,000 in tenant space build-outs, more than doubling its 2011 total.

"Eileen has instilled in her team a culture of honesty, integrity and proprietary treatment of clients' investments," noted Gualberto "Gil" Medina, Cushman & Wakefield's New Jersey executive managing director. "Her executive leadership and management style promotes teamwork, fosters staff development, and ensures that the clients' short- and long-term goals are met and exceeded. Simply put, she is a great asset for our firm and our clients. Her promotion is well deserved."

Carey is LEED EB accredited. She also is certified as a BOMA Real Property Administrator and a member of the BOMA organization. She graduated Cum Laude from Marist College, where she majored in Business Administration.
