  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 22, 2012 - Lincoln Medical Center welcomes Charity Lynette owner of Curvy Chick Fitness on December 21st for a "Lunch-Time Workout" with Patients and staff. Charity will run six, thirty minute workouts throughout the day to give everyone a chance to learn quick and easy workout steps and tips to healthy living.

This will be the second workout that Charity Lynette is doing at Lincoln Hospital. On November 27th 2012, Lincoln Medical Center launched its first Seniors Cookbook-a collection of traditional family recipes titled "Savory Bites and Sweet Sensations" and invited Charity Lynette to teach the seniors simple workout techniques to go along with their healthy eating habits.

Charity Lynette chose to do the workout with patients in the hospital because she felt, at a time when the epidemic of overweight and obesity and related diseases is the subject of public discourse at the federal, state and local levels, this project connects to the numerous initiatives taking place to improve healthy outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities among ethnic minorities and poor communities.

Working out with the staff is also important to Charity, because most hospital employees work numerous hours weekly and don't make time for exercising and eating right. Charity Lynette felt to bring the workout to employees would be a great way to remind them of how important it is to make time for living healthy.

Charity Lynette will continue her "Healthy Hospitals" project with Lincoln Medical Center's "Fit and Fun" program on December 27th 2012, where she will work with the youth in the community. Lincoln Fit and Fun is a support group that provides health education and promotes healthy lifestyle behavioral changes in a group setting. The target audience is comprised of children ages 6-14 years who are either overweight or obese based on the body mass index (BMI) classification. Many of the participants and their families also have chronic illnesses including but not limited to Diabetes Mellitus. Charity Lynette plans on showing the youth simple and fun exercising techniques that will be so much fun, it would never really feel like a workout.

Her Healthy Hospitals initiative will be coming to Harlem Hospital for the new year and eventually hit most of the New York City Hospitals. Keep checking back for more news and updates by following Charity Lynette and Curvy Chick Fitness ( @ ) curvychickfit and ( @ ) charitylynette
