Cross border collaboration in film music in action

  • (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2013 - New York: Music transcends boundaries and borders. What could have been a distant dream project years back is taking a reality, thanks to collaborative and internet technologies in the upcoming Bengali (wiki: Bengali) feature film Tiyasha which is being directed by veteran and critically acclaimed film Director Animesh Roy under the banner of Ashoka Tree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

    The film which will delve in the father-son bonding will be acted by award winning actors of the Indian film fraternity - Saswata Chatterjee and Chandrayee Ghosh in the main lead.

    The producers roped in Debanjalee Banerjee and Aninda Bose who recently produced an EP Rim Jhim (a Bengali pop album) which is now #40 in Rev Nations world chart is collaborating with Indian singers and US musicians.

    Ace keyboard player and arranger Vasanth Vaseegaran who had earlier collaborated with Aninda will be doing the arrangements and Dan Skye (Skylabs, Shotgun Symphony, Bon Jovi) will be doing the engineering and also playing the lead guitar for the rock composition. It is believed that Jason Portizo (Don't Know Jack, Celebrity Shot) will play the bass guitar and child prodigy Varun will play the percussions.

    Leading Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan has worked with Aninda Bose for an alternate rock and metal song for this film. "It is a powerful composition - the chorus and harmonies get the best out of a singer" - "We used collaborative technologies and video sessions to get this recorded. Looking forward to working with Aninda in more projects" - she added.

    Aninda when contacted said "It is a pleasure working with a versatile and talented singer like Sunidhi, she has a world voice and gave the dimension I imagined for this song. I thank the producers for trying this genre of music in Tiyasha."
    Debanjalee Banerjee - co-music director is doing the title tracks for the film and has used popular Bengali playback singer Rupankar Bagchi for this. Debanjalee said "I pretty much had Rupankar in mind when I finished the composition - he has done a phenomenal job in getting the spirit out"

    Animesh Bagchi - co-producer of the film echoed "We wanted a world class production value. Music is an integral part of all film's success and pre-release promotions. Reputed band Kaya will do the background score"
    Tiyasha is scheduled for a September or October 2013 release.
