  • (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2010 - Unz & Co. recently released UnzHazmat® 5.0, a software program dedicated to dangerous goods transportation documentation. It was designed to make the compliance documentation process more efficient.

"Our experts have been dealing with compliance regulations since 1879," said Daniel Scott, president of Unz & Co. "Regulatory compliance is our driving force. Providing our customers with an easy-to-use tool that takes compliance seriously was the natural next step."

Time is saved on every transaction done in UnzHazmat® 5.0. Existing repetitive data such as customer and product information is saved in databases. And the user can return to the transaction documentation to modify as often as needed - changing shipment details or adding/deleting forms right up to the ship date. Drafts can be shared through emails or print to paper, and easily export all shipment details to spreadsheet programs. Three detailed management reports can also be created based on shipment, customer, and product information.

UnzHazmat® 5.0 features five of the most commonly used dangerous goods transportation compliance forms: DOT Hazmat Domestic Bill of Lading, IATA Dangerous Goods Declaration, IATA Non-Restricted Declaration, IMO Multimodal Dangerous Goods Declaration, and Shippers' Letter of Instruction; as well as a Packing List and Emergency Response Instruction. Software prompts and embedded reference information assists the user in the completion of each form. If used with a color printer, no preprinted forms are needed (blank IATA Dangerous Goods Declarations forms with red diagonal hatchings and IMO Multimodal Dangerous Goods Declaration forms with blue diagonal hatchings are available for those with a non-color printer).

It is the first hazmat software with the ability to print and include emergency responder guides along with the documentation instead of separately reproducing each guide. "We made sure to include that because starting this October, in addition to the name of the emergency responder and phone number, the Department of Transportation will require the contract number between the shipper of record and the first responder," Scott said. "This option makes it easier for you to make copies of ERG instructions to be included with your documentation."

UnzHazmat® 5.0 is available in two versions: single user ($875) and multiuser ($3200). Included with the purchase is free technical support for ninety days. Annual maintenance agreements are also available.
