  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2010 - Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, LLP (www.cshlaw.com), congratulates summer associate Alka Srivastava on winning a $10,000 DRI Law Student Diversity Scholarship, one of only two national scholarships awarded annually. Sirvastava was recognized at the DRI Diversity for Success Seminar in Chicago last month.

    Sirvastava is a J.D. candidate at Campbell University School of Law. She is in the top 15 percent of her class, ranking 20 out of 137 students. Her accomplishments include awards for the best brief in the 2010 Craven Holderness Moot Court Competition and 2009 Intramural Moot Court Competition, as well as first place in the 2009 Intramural Client Counseling Competition. Previously, Sirvastava served as a summer judicial clerk with the North Carolina Court of Appeals for the Honorable Rick Elmore.

    The goal of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for two worthy law students from schools accredited by the American Bar Association. Incoming second- and third-year students who are female or of ethnic descent are eligible to apply. Winners must demonstrate academic excellence, service to the profession, service to the community and service to the cause of diversity.
