  • (1888PressRelease) August 31, 2010 - Sedona, Arizona - CPAexcel, a global provider of Certified Public Accountant Exam (CPA Exam) study materials, is very pleased to announce the release of this informative high definition (HD) video by Dr. Allen Bizzell. Dr. Bizzell's video can be found on YouTube.com and on CPAexcel's website.

    Dr. Bizzell, CPA, is the Associate Dean Emeritus of the esteemed University of Texas (Austin) College of Business. As an accounting professor, he won the coveted UT Student Council's award for teaching excellence. Beta Alpha Psi, the national accounting honor society, awarded him the Outstanding Faculty Advisor in 1975-1976, making Dr. Bizzell one of only four faculty advisors in the entire U.S. to receive this honor.

    Dr. Bizzell is the CPAexcel author and video lecturer for the Economic Concepts and Financial Management segments of the Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) section of the CPA Exam.

    This coming January, a new CPA Exam will debut.

    By remaining in constant contact with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as they overhauled the CPA Exam, Dr. Bizzell was able to monitor the extensive changes to the exam's content and structure. It is anticipated that there will more changes to BEC than the other three sections of the exam: Auditing and Attestation (AUD), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), and Regulation (REG).

    In this video, Dr. Bizzell applies his perspicacity to present a cogent analysis of those changes to Economic Concepts and Financial Management, which are two segments of the BEC section.

    Dr. Bizzell shares his keen understanding of the changes to the BEC section:

    • Time Limits: BEC will gain 30 minutes and have a maximum testing time of three hours.

    • The number of multiple choice questions (MCQs) will decline from 90 in 2010 to 72 in 2011.

    • While there are no written communication (essay) questions in 2010, there will be three on each 2011 exam. In 2011, BEC will be the only section of the exam to have written communications and the subjects for the essays will only come from the BEC section.

    • In 2010, Economic Concepts questions comprise 8-12% of the section; in 2011, that number rises to 16-20%.

    • In 2010, Financial Management questions comprise 17-23% of the section; in 2011, that number rises to 19-23%.

    • Content of Economic Concepts:

    1. More emphasis on globalization including
    Shifts in power between nations;
    The impact of economic concepts.

    2. More emphasis on Risk/ Business Strategy and Market Analysis.

    • Content of Financial Management:
    1. More emphasis on Risk and Risk Analysis;
    2. New topics such as Forecasting and Trends and Financial Valuation.

    To prepare students to pass the CPA Exam in 2011, Dr. Bizzell has completed a new set of instructional video lectures in high definition as well as a new set of printed and electronic textbooks for CPAexcel. There will be six new lessons on Business Strategy and Market Analysis, two new lessons in Forecasting and Trends, and five new lessons in Financial Valuation. These first-class study materials will be available in fall 2010.

    Since 2004, over 87% of CPAexcel's students have passed the CPA Exam by reading Dr. Bizzell's texts and viewing his video lectures. Current CPAexcel students will be given access to all of Dr. Bizzell's 2011 study materials for free until they pass all four parts of the CPA Exam-a promise unique among providers of CPA Review Courses.
