  • Birmingham, AL (1888PressRelease) December 27, 2012 - Stacy Garaca, former teacher at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Stacy Garaca's commitment to excellence in Education and Business.

Garaca, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, both from Samford University, worked in neuropsychology at UAB as a psychometrist for two years, but later left to pursue an education degree. She has since taught all subjects to fifth graders for the past seven years.

"My students reminded me how to remain excited and hopeful about each new day, how to appreciate the little things in life, and how to trust and love unconditionally," Garaca said. "Most importantly, they taught me how to be more patient and understanding. I truly feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know and educate such phenomenal children!"

Currently, Garaca is the owner of her own business, Garaca's Pebs, LLC, which offers animal promotions, products, and services, and serves as an advocate for all animal welfare. She also holds fundraising events for non-profit animal rescue organizations. She helps design and market products and trains Pebbles, her one-year-old Shih Tzu dog, whom her company was founded on behalf of.

"Pebbles is a special dog with special talents and has already changed the lives of other animals for the better," Garaca said.

With aspirations of becoming a successful and powerful animal advocator worldwide, Garaca hopes to save as many animals' lives as possible, especially dogs, through her business, writings, photographs, and promotions. She also hopes to work closely with organizations such as Hand-in-Paw, Children's Hospital, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, bringing hope and joy to sick and disabled children through the use of therapy dogs.
