Covington Who's Who Selects Sabrina A. Gardner as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Sabrina A. Gardner, Founder of Diabetes Health and Wellness Academy of NYC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Sabrina A. Gardner's commitment to excellence in Health and Wellness.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 26, 2014 - Sabrina A. Gardner, who formed her company in March 2012, was incorporated by The University State of New York Board of Regents and The New York State Education Department.
As the founder of her academy, Ms. Gardner spearheads the vision of the organization; the first of it's kind in US history. After learning that her child was suffering from Type 1 diabetes, her ongoing relationships with her child's medical, educational, and social contacts helped her realize their was a much needed support system that focused on education.
"Battling disease over the past 14 years and watching how it affected my entire family as a unit is one of the many reasons that prompted me to stay on this course of helping other families and caregivers with the ongoing support so desperately needed to combat chronic disease," Ms. Gardner said. "Education is the key to any cure."
Ms. Gardner hopes to serve students, their families, and caregivers with resources in health and wellness to build daily support systems that will include positive self-management and optimal health. She is expecting to open her academy within the next two years, if not sooner. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association's African American Initiative. She is also a former member of National Association of Professional Women.
