- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) January 08, 2014 - Richard Sevilla, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from St. Thomas University, is certified in Microsoft Office and is a certified Comptia Security Plus Professional who began working in his field in 1993.
Starting out as a supervisor for a medical records department within a laboratory, Mr. Sevilla learned many of the aspects of computers by paying close attention to the technicians that would often come and go. By disassembling and reassembling computers and doing a lot of reading on the topic in his down time, he quickly became a self-taught professional with a lot to offer.
Hired by IBM Distributing Center in 1997, Mr. Sevilla now manages and implements an IDM solution that addresses the needs of the company, which includes compliance, consulting, support, network solutions, HIPP, and SOX Omnibus Identity Solutions.
Crediting hands-on experience to his success thus far in the industry, Mr. Sevilla said, "I love what I do. Where others see a problem I see opportunity. Being the head of a blended family with six children to support, I made sure to take advantage of every single opportunity that came my way to grow, learn, and provide."
Hoping to continue growing, both in knowledge and in the ever-growing IT field, and also be able to apply his expertise in future projects that require outside the box thinking, Mr. Sevilla is excited about the future of his career.
Mr. Sevilla is an active member of Delta Epsilon. He pioneered the IDM Enterprise Solutions project at Baptist Health Systems, managed a NASA Grant for Advancement of Academic Computing, and was named Staff Member of the Year during his time spent with St. Thomas University in 2001.
