Covington Who's Who Selects Regan W. Straus as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2013 - Regan W. Straus, Crane Operator for Bunch Welding, Ltd., has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Regan W. Straus's commitment to excellence in Energy, Oil, and Gas Extraction.
Regan W. Straus, who suffered a severe leg injury when a survey barrel pierced through his leg while working as a roughneck in the oil field on an oil rig, eventually had to pursue an entirely new career due to his injury. He first got a job running a picker truck, but eventually ended up in the crane business.
Now a crane operator, Mr. Straus works in the oil and gas construction business building facilities. He operates the crane on site, lifting and moving large pieces of equipment and pipe, all the while following very strict safety guidelines.
"After my accident I couldn't return to the rigs and was forced to pursue a new career altogether," Mr. Straus said. "I have since been to trade school to learn about different cranes and how to operate them."
Hoping to one day run a crane off-shore, Mr. Straus would also love to become a coordinator and teach his trade to the next generation. During his time in crane school he earned top marks. He also obtained his fifth class engineer certificate, which allows him to operate a heating or power plant. He is a member of Alberta Boiler Association and is a recipient of the Ian Cannon Memorial Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement.
