  • Baton Rouge, LA (1888PressRelease) January 05, 2013 - Lisa Cooper Colvin, Professor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

    Colvin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Exercise Science, both from the University of Northern Louisiana, and a PhD in Exercise Physiology from The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Colvin is a licensed clinical exercise physiologist (LCEP) through the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners. She is holds coaching certifications through USA Cycling, Swimming, Track & Field and Triathlon. She's been working in her field since 1989.

    Dr. Colvin has twenty-five years experience in higher education and clinical practice, including eight years as an adjunct professor at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge. She has directed the University's successful accreditation and recent reaffirmation of the department CAAHEP certification of both the undergraduate and graduate exercise physiology programs. She has also directed Human Performance Laboratories in both universities and clinical settings.

    Hoping to work with the United States Olympic Committee to become a High Performance Coach, Dr. Colvin continues to work hard by gaining the experience and certifications necessary to coach America's finest athletes. She is inspired by both her husband, Robert Lane Colvin, II and her parents.

    Dr. Colvin's husband has been instrumental in her attaining world rankings as an athlete and coach. "Without Lane, none of these things are possible.     Dr. Colvin is a member of Phi Epsilon Kappa and Sigma Chi, is a Fellow with American College of Sports Medicine, and the vice-president of her institution's Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society chapter. She was the recipient of the Elite Triathlete ranking through USA Triathlon and the ITU during 2007-08. She was also recently awarded the prestigious Dr. Lucy Skackelford Endowed Professor of Kinesiology at ULM for her innovative and cutting edge contributions to the physical activity domain.
