    Ms. Cockey holds a Master's Degree from Towson College and spent several years teaching elementary school-aged children. She also held an assistant principal position before deciding to leave the classroom and write children's books for a living. She has written and published 'Noisy Neighbors' and 'Oh Me Oh My' and is currently working on her third book, entitled 'Henrietta the Heron'.

    Knowing the value of working hard to achieve success, Ms. Cockey hopes to continue writing and publishing children's books and become a well-known author of children's literature.

    "A number of teachers, as well as my brother, gave me the inspiration I needed to be successful," Ms. Cockey said. "I also learned how to work hard and to work with undying effort."

    Ms. Cockey was awarded a Presidential Citation for teaching science and also earned an Audubon Society Scholarship.
