    Starr, who holds a BS in Electronic Engineering from Thomas Edison State College, is a certified Level III Technician through Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society. He began working in his field in 1985 after earning his associates degree. More recently, he founded his own book company, Starr Books, publishing travel journal pictorials and religions works related to genealogy.

    As a control engineer, Starr writes the programs that control the machines or process. He also designs the cabinet and specifies the controls used.
