Ann Perry has been volunteering at the Coatesville Public Library since 1994, responsible for showcasing and displaying the public windows and showcases throughout the library and working within the library on various projects, including workshops.
"Libraries serve as a life-line for millions of Americans in our increasingly competitive global economy, especially in leaner economic times," Perry admits. "The Free Public Library plays an important role in giving everyone a chance to succeed. As a volunteer, my passion is to engage the mind and nourish the spirit of a generation with the knowledge and resources to create a democracy of constituents equipped to pursue and achieve their goals."
Supporting a famous quote by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1941 in which he said that libraries are "essential to the functioning of a democratic society", Perry hopes to continue volunteering and giving back for many more years to come.
Perry is an active member of the National Association of Professional Women, American Center for Law and Justice, American Diabetes Association, and Southern Poverty Law Center.
