  • (1888PressRelease) October 05, 2007 - Imprivata, US identity management specialists recently inked their first Australian partnership agreement with Melbourne-based IT security specialists, CoreSight. Imprivata’s OneSign product ships as an appliance pair or distributed system, and delivers enterprise single sign-on that is simple, secure and effective.

CoreSight spokesperson Scott Jackson said “since Imprivata’s recent push into this market, there has been significant interest in their OneSign range. Several organisations have reached the proof of concept (POC) stage, and with a typical POC implemented in only a couple of days, we expect to have a number of clients before the end of the year.”

Imprivata OneSign’s refreshing approach to enterprise single sign-on makes SSO simple and non-intrusive, with the process of adding applications as quick and easy as possible. OneSign’s ability to securely leverage existing infrastructure and transparent sign-on process makes for content end users, administrators and auditors alike.

“Although the Imprivata OneSign technology is applicable to all industries, we’re finding that the healthcare, financial services and government areas are the most interested today”, Jackson said. “Regulatory and privacy drivers in these areas seem to have created a better understanding of the benefits from making password management transparent for users. At the same time they realise they can increase the security of application logins without having to change code or the directory schema.”

Imprivata OneSign is significantly less complex than most competitive solutions, without sacrificing functionality or security. Easier implementation mean a quicker payback – and that organisations can satisfy many regulatory requirements and security best-practices without the delays that some identity and access management projects can bring.

CoreSight already has significant experience in the password management area, courtesy of their partnership with VASCO Data Security since 2003. That Imprivata’s OneSign can leverage off existing authentication methods such as biometrics, smartcards, proximity readers and tokens makes this a great fit for the company. And OneSign also has VASCO’s software integrated directly into the appliance, for organisations that don’t favour an existing authentication service.
