  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2010 - Jennifer Sodrel, Director of Information Management at Copernicus Group IRB (CGIRB), will be presenting the case study, "Go Paperless: A Three-Phase Approach," at this year's DOCMENT Strategy Forum on Wednesday, September 15th at 10:00 am. This case study reviews the use of digital electronic signature for approvals, best practices approach to a five million page scanning effort (with live documents) and efficiencies gained and personnel savings.

The DOCUMENT Strategy Forum, put together by the editors of DOCUMENT magazine, is the industry's most comprehensive educational conference. Developed to cover four distinct segments of the transactional document life cycle, the conference includes all-day workshops, case studies, panel discussion, roundtables and in-depth sessions.

Sodrel's presentation will highlight CGIRB's recent partnership with Sitrof Technologies. Together they transformed CGIRB into a paperless operation to improve efficiency, reduce the need for paper (for cost, storage and environmental reasons) and, most of all, to improve their quality and competitive advantage. The paperless endeavor involved a massive legacy document scanning operation, including 1.5 million legacy documents totaling 5 million images, as well as all internal documents and all inbound paper and electronic documents while maintaining FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

"I specifically want to focus on the benefits going paperless has provided CGIRB," said Sodrel. "We can now process information a lot faster with a remarkably greener footprint. This enables us to work more efficiently with our clients, saving time and money throughout the review process."

CGIRB's immense document transition was the precursor to the release of CGIRB Connexus™, an advanced integrated portal technology, comprehensive tracking database and paperless document repository, available mid-September. Connexus will provide study managers with unprecedented new capabilities to efficiently and effectively manage the entire review process. Connexus cements CGIRB's leadership in excellence and quality and has been named a finalist in the Records Management & Compliance category of the 2010 ACE Awards presented by ECM Connection magazine. CGIRB has full AAHRPP accreditation and ISO

9001 certification. For more information about the DOCUMENT Strategy Forum, please visit www.documentstrategyforum.com/index.html.
