  • (1888PressRelease) October 31, 2014 - Community Green Energy, LLC (CGE) supports SOUL of Wisconsin, a non-profit organization, with a donation of a one year, 1 kW community solar subscription; for use in their Silent Auction & Dance to be held Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2-8 pm in Ontario, Wis.

The CGE 'Community Virtual Solar Garden' is to be located at the Green Leaf Inn in Delavan, Wis. A subscription to this solar garden entitles subscribers to receive all the financial benefits of solar energy without the hassle, maintenance and cost of individual rooftop installation. It also provides solar power as an option for the 75% of the population who cannot install rooftop solar due to building limitations or the fact that they rent.

The bidder who wins this one year subscription will receive monthly payments, from Community Green Energy; the owner and developer of the project, for the value of the energy produced by 1 kW of the 29 kW system being constructed.

The 1 kW subscription is expected to produce roughly 1,200 kWh of electricity during the year, or enough to offset about 15% of a typical home's electric use.

"We are pleased to be able to support SOUL of Wisconsin," said CEO and President of Community Green Energy, Fritz Kreiss. "The money raised will go to support the local residents in opposition to the Badger-Coulee transmission line and the potential negative environmental impact from the proposed installation.

"Community Green Energy stands alongside SOUL of Wisconsin," said Mike Erickson, VP of Community Green Energy, "in support of the community's goal to develop more sustainable options for their growing energy needs; including energy efficiency projects and local electrical distribution."

SOUL of Wisconsin is a non-profit grassroots organization whose mission is to promote efficient and responsible management of electrical power for the public good, while protecting the natural, social and economic environments and citizens of Wisconsin. www.soulwisconsin.org.
