  • (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2012 - We hope there's no shortage of Botox in Los Angeles, because the city's going to have some laugh lines to deal with when Don Barnhart brings his standup act to Levity Entertainment Group's comedy club stage Aug 9th, 2012.

As part of the prize for winning the contest, Levity's main booking agent will be among those who watch Don take center stage at the Improv Comedy Club in Brea, CA. Levity will also promote Don's work across their social media channels.

Don combines well written, topical material and delivers it with a fast paced energy and animated improvisational flair that keeps audiences of all ages howling with laughter and coming back for more. Audiences say, "Barnhart has the wit and insight of George Carlin with the energy, delivery and characters of Robin Williams making Don funny on so many different levels".

The Las Vegas Review/Journal lists Barnhart's show as one of their "Best Bets", The NY Times calls him, "Hilarious", The LA Times says, "One of the best" and Howard Stern said, "This guy's funny!"

Barnhart will be returning from entertaining the troops in the Middle East when he takes the stage at the Improv. For the last 20 years when he's not headlining the top comedy clubs in the US, Barnhart heads overseas to entertain the men and women serving in the armed forces and in 2010 he received the Bob Hope Award for his dedication to entertaining the troops worldwide.

"The sacrifices these men and women make to serve our country is commendable and it's important that we support them in every way we can", stated Barnhart. "Winning the contest is a great boost for my career as Levity is involved with so many aspects of comedy."

The comedian also stars in new film, Finding The Funny exploring the topic whether or not you can teach someone to be funny. The film follows Barnhart as he teaches both the art and business of stand up comedy at his studios in Las Vegas exploring the long debated topic whether or not you can actually teach someone to be funny.

The film is directed by John Bizarre and features interviews with famous and not so famous comedians including Brad Garrett, Louie Anderson, Rondell Sheridan, Marty Allen, Andy Kindler and Wendy Liebman and many of Levity's other clients.

Barnhart is also a certified hypnotist who performs a separate hypnosis show and has a new book, Creating The Life You Desire and a series of self-improvement audio CDs available on his website, Amazon and Borders. He was just featured on The Best of The Bob and Tom Radio Show.
