Comedian Don Barnhart Returns To Southern California Filming Cannabis Comedy Reefer Rendum During Stand Up Tour

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2015 - Comedian Don Barnhart returns to Southern California to film the final stand up comedy segments for his cannabis based comedy documentary Reefer Rendum at The Surf City Comedy Club in Huntington Beach, CA. before taking over the club on May 9th with his DeEvolution of Man Stand Up Comedy Tour.

Barnhart, who grew up in Southern California will perform his stand up show May 9th at the Surf City Comedy Club after filming segments for the movie May 8th. Don, a native of Southern California, got his start at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach where he was the house emcee and talent coordinator for several years working and learning from the best of the best.

Seeing Don's gift and desire, Jay Leno advised Don that if you want to be a comic, you've got to take your act on the road and see if it works everywhere. The next day, Barnhart took Leno's advice and quit his job at the club and hasn't looked back as Don averages over 280 days a year performing around the world and this will be the first time in years that Barnhart returns to perform in his home of Southern California.

Barnhart's stand up show consists of well written, thought provoking material, delivered with an animated flair making him funny on so many levels keeping audiences of all ages howling with laughter and coming back for more. The Las Vegas Review Journal named Don Barnhart's comedy show one of their "Best Bets" and he was selected as one of the featured headliners at the 2014 Laughlin Comedy Festival alongside Larry The Cable Guy, Dana Carvey and Maryellen Hooper.

Since his first USO tour back in 1992, Barnhart has been performing and producing comedy shows for the troops around the world bringing both celebrities and the next generation of comedy superstars to the men and women serving in the armed forces and he just finished another world tour.

Don is the author of the new book on stand up, Finding Your Funny as well as Creating The Life You Desire and he's a contributing author on I Killed: True Stories From The Road by America's Funniest Comedians. Barnhart is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles and is a certified hypnotist performing both a stand up and comedy hypnosis show.

Barnhart is also the founder of the Las Vegas Comedy Institute and one of the most sought after comedy coaches in the industry, teaching stand up and improv at his Vegas based studio and around the world.

Over the last year, stand up comedian Don Barnhart's film career has been gaining steam as he plays a rather disgruntled, fading road comic in the upcoming comedy film, Tribute To Fluffy directed by USC Alumni Micah Cyrus. Barnhart also stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garret, Louie Anderson and Wendy Liebman and he's just finished writing the script for the comedy Freeloader which he stars in and will begin production later this year.

Barnhart's new Cannabis-Based Comedy Documentary: "Reefer Rendum" explores the continuing legalization of marijuana in America with candid and humorous interviews from all points of view within the 420 communities including Politicians, Lawmakers, Doctors, and Comedians. Reefer Rendum will feature professional working comedians doing their funniest "420" themed material.

Reefer Rendum stars, and is written and directed by award-winning comedian Don Barnhart.
