  • Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) December 03, 2013 - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading provider of real estate services in Northern California and a sponsor of the 2013 California International Marathon, announced today it will hold its second annual Party at the Wall during this year's CIM on December 8.

The CIM will begin in Folsom and provide runners with a fast, point-to-point, net-downhill marathon with a spectacular finish in front of the California State Capitol. It is certified and sanctioned by the USA Track & Field Association and is a Boston Marathon qualifier and an Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier. It is also estimated the event will bring in approximately $8 million of revenue for the city of Sacramento.

"The California International Marathon is an important event for Sacramento," said Kris Vogt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. "It gives our city an economic boost and earns an incredible amount of attention for the more than 50 neighborhoods the race route passes through. This is Sacramento's opportunity to shine on a national level."

The goal of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Party at the Wall is to gather the public together to celebrate and cheer on runners as they break through "The Wall" - a point in the race where many exhausted runners "hit a wall" of fatigue and think about stopping. That point tends to occur around mile 20, right near Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Sacramento Sierra Oaks office where the event will be held. The company has coined that 20th mile the "Blue Mile" in honor of its navy blue colors and logo.

The Party at the Wall will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 440 Drake Circle and will include delicious eats from the food truck Drewski's, fun activities and live music from Essex Band who will be playing the best of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

In addition to the party, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will have a team of agents, led by company president Kris Vogt, running in the race. Vogt will be joined by Kristi Hood, David Gavel, Mary Grebitus, Jeff Anderson, Christine Vella, Brian Perry, Rob Cunha and Debbie Newton.

"Running in the CIM is a great way for our agents, friends and family to get more involved in this incredible community event. We hope the public will come out to the Party at the Wall and cheer us on, as well as all the runners, as we head toward the finish line."

The event is free and the public is encouraged to learn more by visiting www.cbbluemile.com.
