  • (1888PressRelease) February 20, 2014 - Ben Casnocha, the award winning entrepreneur and author from Silicon Valley, addressed a group of entrepreneurs during a meeting of the UAE Chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO ) that took place at Capital City at the Dubai Court Room from 5pm to 7pm yesterday. The main purpose of this learning session was to uncover the secret of employee retention in the modern day business world.

The event was a part of the EO initiative launched in 2008 for the brainstorming of business ideas and insights between experts from the public and private sectors.

According to the speaker Ben Casnocha, the old employer-employee relationship does not fit in the modern day entrepreneurial agenda. Stability is no more a norm as people tend to move on if they witness any kind of stagnation on their personal or professional fronts. He spoke about how even the best of employees are not tied up by any responsibility to serve a particular company till the end. They need to be and feel entrepreneurial at work and that's the perfect way to increase employee retention, he says.

The session touched upon ways to reinvent the employer-employee relationship by creating a mutually beneficial environment. He explained how reciprocity holds the key to retaining more employees in a particular business. According to him, the entire experience ought to be a 2-way flow of value. He further explained how to develop a 2 to 4 year 'tours of duty' with the major employees that leads to better retention.

He expressed why an updated Linked In profile is bound to work for all the employees. He explained the importance of setting up a corporate alumni network and ways to build one for a company. As per his vision, the modern day fiery employees are not afraid of taking risks and have the spirit of an entrepreneur in them. It's all about recognizing your skill sets and establishing your own personal brand through networking, he said.

The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) is a dynamic, global network of more than 7,300 business owners in 42 countries. Founded in 1987 by a group of young entrepreneurs, EO is the catalyst that enables entrepreneurs to learn and grow from each other, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal life. EO UAE has been around for over a decade and today has over 50 members. It prides itself on the fact that like the UAE, it has members who come from various different professional and cultural backgrounds who within them have a rich array of experiences to share.

Ben Casnocha is the co-author of the bestselling book, 'The Start-up of You' that throws light on developing an entrepreneurial spirit by investing in yourself and transforming your career.
