Cleveland's Top DJs Release West 6th Mixtape Vol. 2
Back by popular demand, the West 6th Mixtape series is back! This year collaboration features a stellar cast including DJ EV, Donkis, Flaco Flash, Party Pana, Kosher Kuts, Justin Nyilas and DJ KNYCE. Hosted by Cleveland's very own nightlife legend, SuperPimp, this diverse club mixtape provides 80 minutes of electrifying music ranging in genres from Kanye West, Beastie Boys and Drake to Madonna.
- Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2012 - The West 6th Mixtape series started in 2010 when Donkis, Tilla from the Kick Drums, Flaco Flash, Kosher Kuts and DJ KNYCE put together a mixtape to represent West 6th, the staple of Cleveland's Warehouse District. "West 6th is a big part of any successful Cleveland DJ. I work 4,5,6 nights a week in various West 6th clubs. West 6th is my full time job!!!" said Kosher Kuts. Although initially it was meant to be just a one-time project, fueled by the response from the fans, they decided to produce the 2nd volume.
In addition to Donkis, Flaco Flash, Kosher Kuts and DJ KNYCE, the sophomore mix will also feature fellow Warehouse District deejays DJ EV, Party Pana and Justin Nyilas. "I wanted to add all these guys to the project because they all have made a name for themselves, they have their own following, and are just plain old good at what they do, not to mention we are all good friends!!" said Donkis, who instrumented this year's collaboration.
The final piece of the puzzle was adding SuperPimp as official host of the West 6th Mix series. "SuperPimp has amazing energy that draws people to him and is a West 6th symbol. So what better idea then to have him be part of an amazing mix that carries the same energy" mentioned Flaco Flash. "West 6th to me is an escape to a fun fantasy world away from the reality of everyday life," explained SuperPimp when asked what West 6th means to him.
The collaboration began with everyone meeting for a video shoot on West 6th. Although there was no script, the creativity of everyone involved was quickly put to work and the end product was this epic promo video.
