  • Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) July 04, 2019 - Today, CivX, a startup motivated by innovative civic engagement, announces the launch of its new mobile platform the CivX app. Currently available for free download on iOS, the legislative based crowdfunding app provides American citizens with the opportunity to view and support docketed legislation with a simple “thumb swipe.” This gamified, user-friendly experience ignores political promises and introduces a  mobile PAC for well-informed campaign donations.

CivX has a familiar, intuitive interface much like popular dating and networking apps Tinder and Bumble. Upon opening the app, users are presented with an image and summary of a bill proposed by Congress in the form of a “card.” With a single tap of the “card,” users are able to view additional details including the bill’s sponsors, sponsor state, sponsor party, date introduced, latest action taken, and the complete bill text. The app’s unique crowdfunding functionality lets users donate directly to the elected official’s reelection campaign who are in favor of or against the previewed legislation. This feature provides all US citizens with the ability to support the electorates actively working towards like-minded ideas and causes.

In an effort to transform average Americans into knowledgeable lobbyists, the app includes several informative and interactive features. After viewing a congressional bill, users are able to show approval or disapproval with a “swipe left” or a “swipe right.” There is also an added option of tapping the thumbs up or thumbs down icons displayed on the home screen. The CivX app’s current capabilities include the following:

Search and track the progress of congressional bills
CivX community poll displaying users financial support for or against each bill
Customizable notifications displaying when a bill is introduced, voted on, approved, vetoed, or reaches $1,000,000 donations

“We realized that expecting accountability by proxy from lobbying interests just wasn’t the answer anymore,” said Jason Riccardi, COO. “For better or worse, politicians bound to special interests and mega donors became part of the fabric of modern American politics. When developing CivX, we simply asked, ‘How can we take promises out of the equation and focus on actions to make our democracy more representative?’ The CivX app is designed to be a civic engagement tool that provides a voice and a vehicle for the average citizen.”
The CivX app is available for free download on the Apple App store and on the CivX website, http://www.uscivx.com.
