The campaigns shortlisted this year have beaten off particularly intense competition, with submission numbers rising by 39 per cent year-on-year.

Winners will be announced and trophies awarded at the Gala Dinner evening, held at the HAC in the City of London on Thursday November 24th, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.

In terms of agencies represented in the shortlist, IAS B2B, The Marketing Practice, The Crocodile and Earnest all faired particularly well, with over ten campaigns each in the shortlist.

Joel Harrison, Editor of B2B Marketing, comments "Congratulations to all those brands and agencies shortlisted and commiserations to those who didn't make it through this year. Competition is hotter than ever for these awards, which reflects the continuing growth in interest and understanding in business-to-business marketing."

The B2B Marketing Awards are now in its seventh year. Headline sponsors for 2011 are Google and Gravity. Other sponsors are IBM, ABBA, IAS B2B, Mardev DM2, Birddog, Marketing Options International and Price Direct.

Richard Robinson, head of B2B markets at Google, comments, "it's great to see so much enthusiasm surrounding the B2B sector, and the growing importance of all things digital in effective business communications. The B2B Marketing Awards is a great event that Google are delighted to be involved in. Congratulations to all those who have made the shortlist."

Over 700 people attended last year's gala dinner, which was followed by an aftershow party that carried on until the small hours. "Book early to avoid disappointment," adds Joel Harrison, "it promises to be a great night."
