  • San Jose, CA (1888PressRelease) August 21, 2013 - Cima Collina, a family owned boutique winery recognized for their award-winning Pinot Noir wines, celebrates "Adopt-a-Dog Month" and "Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month" with their first ever Howlin' Good Pet Fest, a pet costume contest benefiting The SPCA for Monterey County. Cima Collina plans to award up to seven prizes for categories that extend beyond the usual Best Costume including Most Outrageous, Most Creative, Best Pet-Owner Duo, and Best Pet Trick. A ticket to the event includes wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres including a selection of Corralitos Market sausages hot off the grill, and a bottle of 2009 Monterey County Pinot Noir labeled with your pet's picture. Each ticketed attendee has the option of entering a pet into the contest or enjoy the parade of cute and hilarious Howl-o-ween costumes and pet tricks. Many silent auction items are available including a "Trip for Two and your pet on the Wine Trolley" and a "Two night stay at Cima Collina's Hilltop Ranch."

    The SPCA for Monterey County's Samantha Hughes, the Offsite Adoption Coordinator will bring adoptable dogs to this event. This is a great opportunity to ask about pet adoptions and how to get involved with The SPCA.

    Cima Collina Winery supports their local community of pets and their owners. "Dogs are always welcome at the tasting room and offered free dog biscuits," comments Jane Beery, Tasting Room manager. Ginny Hawes, wife of proprietor Dick Lumpkin, served on the board of The SPCA for Monterey County from 2001 to 2009. Since 2007, Cima Collina Winery has produced Howlin' Good Red wine, a benefit for The SPCA for Monterey County. Each purchase of Howlin' Good Red supports the organization's great work with furry friends.

    About Cima Collina
    The tasting room is located at 19-A E. Carmel Valley Road in the historic Del Monte Dairy in Carmel Valley, CA. Cima Collina Winery began in 2004 and is owned by Richard Lumpkin. Winemaker and Operations Officer Annette Hoff Danzer sources fruit exclusively from Monterey County vineyards. Annette and her crew produce hand-crafted, artisan wines that reflect a sense of origin.
