  • (1888PressRelease) May 09, 2015 - In honor of World Environment Day, the Church of Scientology will be hosting a panel discussion with community and government leaders on June 5th to promote awareness of and solutions for bettering the world we all live in.

Rev. Brian Fesler who pastors the church in Nashville says, "We all can do more to help make the city a greener, more beautiful and cleaner place to live."

Panelists will discuss planting community gardens, what can be done to lessen pollution and waste, and more.

The Church of Scientology is involved in this effort through its community betterment program, The Way to Happiness. Based on the book of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard, the program is predicated on the fact that one's survival depends on the survival of others-and that without the survival of others, neither joy nor happiness are attainable.

One of the concepts in the booklet is "Safeguard and Improve Your Environment," which reads in part: "The idea that one has a share in the planet and that one can and should help care for it may seem very large and, to some, quite beyond reality. But today what happens on the other side of the world, even so far away, can effect what happens in your own home."

The panel discussion for World Environment Day will take place on June 5th over lunch at the Nashville Church of Scientology. For more information, contact Julie Brinker at 615-687-4600.
