  • (1888PressRelease) June 12, 2012 - Today the CTC PR office issued the following public invitation: The China Trade Commission invites boys and girls of all ages for a day of FREE fun and adventure at JiYuan New Yansha mall in Haidian to meet Major League Baseball from America, some famous players and learn about America's oldest and most popular sports game.

Take your turn in the batting cage and see how fast you can throw a ball with the MLB's radar gun. There will be games, free prizes, and autograph sessions. If you like what you see, you can help us organize a little league team in your community. Japan has been crazy about baseball for over fifty years - comes see why for yourself!

Baseball is both an offensive and defensive team sport of strategy, skill, and only a little luck. Hitting a 4 inch ball traveling at over 100 mph with a 4 inch bat has been declared to be the most difficult task in world sports. Eye-hand coordination of MLB players is the best in the world. Come learn the trick and tips from the pros and collect a valuable autograph or two. Meet some veteran coaches who can help you develop your personal skills here in Beijing.

No sports game teaches and develops teamwork better than baseball. If you want to teach your child to be a "team player" - then come introduce them to game of baseball! Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothes with sneakers or tennis shoes.

In view of the above, the China Trade Commission has agreed to actively support major league baseball in Beijing by recruiting, sponsoring, and providing coaches for a little league team in Haidian District of Beijing. While Baseball is currently a big craze in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, it is new to mainland China which has yet to produce a baseball star player. The CTC expects this will change soon and baseball will become as popular as basketball once a Yao Min of baseball emerges into the spotlight.
