  • (1888PressRelease) October 09, 2012 - Children's Hunger Fund (CHF), a San Fernando Valley charity, and 500 friends, volunteers, and supporters took a nostalgic walk through history on Saturday October 6, 2012. CHF celebrated twenty years of service to children in need in a festive and fun evening of celebration in Old Town Pasadena.

The event, hosted by Nickelodeon actor, Patrick Levis, included the emotional true story of an 8-year-old boy named Joel Abundez, whose family has received food from CHF.

"I was a little nervous," said Abundez. "But at the same time I was excited to tell everyone what CHF did for my family. I hope they make it another twenty years."

Guests were entertained with live music, drama, and a special performance by Mark Swayze, a Christian music artist who donated all of the proceeds of his most recent album, "This Album Feeds Children," to CHF. Dave Phillips, founder and President of Children's Hunger Fund, was honored for his excellent service with the gift of 500,000 meals for children in need.

"I'm astounded by all God has done," said Phillips. "As I reflect on the past twenty years, my heart is overwhelmed by all the children we've been privileged to serve. I can't wait to see what God has for us in the future!"

The event, held in the Grand Ballroom at the Pasadena Center was generously sponsored by USANA Health Sciences, Inc. and Regency Lighting.
