Charles Vista LLC Partners With NYC Charities To Deliver Backpacks To Students In Need
NYC Brokerage Firm Donates Bags Filled With School Supplies For Homeless Children.
- (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2011 - Charles Vista, LLC., a full service broker dealer and premier investment banking firm today announced that its employees stuffed 140 backpacks full of supplies for students attending schools throughout New York City. In conjunction with the TR Foundation and the Greater New York chapter of Volunteers of America, Charles Vista answered the call of Operation Backpack, a volunteer initiative that fills thousands of backpacks each year with the tools children in need require for a successful school experience.
"We see Operation Backpack as a fantastic opportunity to give back to our community", said Gregg Lorenzo, founder of Charles Vista, LLC. "Too many students in New York City lack the basic supplies they need to be successful in school. With these tools in hand, more children will be able to focus on their school work and grow to reach their academic potential."
Operation Backpack and its affiliated charities seek to serve the thousands of school-age children living in New York City homeless shelters on any given day. Many of these children begin school each September without the basic writing utensils, notebooks and other items they need to be successful in the classroom. Each year, non-profit organizations and corporate donors come together from around the city to fill as many as 8,000 backpacks with everything from coloring paper and #2 pencils to graphing calculators and USB flash drives.
